To try to determine if an ExpressPCI SCSI adapter requires manufacturer repairs.
WHAT ADAPTERS IT WORKS ON...
ATTO Technology's ExpressPCI Family of SCSI adapters,
consisting of EPCI Models:
•PSC
•PSCd
•DC
•DCd
***IMPORTANT NOTE***
ExpressPCI Diagnostics will not function properly with Virtual Memory turned on. Before running ExpressPCI Diagnostics, you must disable Virtual Memory and any RAM accessory programs, such as Connectix RAM Doubler.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE...
1) Detach all drives & cables from the adapter you want to test.
2) Launch the diagnostics program.
3) Verify that all the installed adapters appear in the popup menu. Only the supported models listed above will show up. Dual channel adapters should have one entry per channel.
4) If the installed adapter(s) appear, go to step 6
5) If a card does NOT appear:
•Shut down the system, remove the adapter, and re-install.
•Start the system and launch the diagnostics.
• If the adapter appears, go to step 6.
• If the adapter still does NOT appear:
•Run "ExpressPCI Updater" to re-program the adapter.
•If the updater does not detect the adapter, contact ATTO Technical Support.
•If the updater does detect the adapter, make sure it reflashes the adapter successfully. Restart the system and launch the diagnostics program.
•If the adapter still does NOT appear, contact ATTO technical support.
6) Select the adapter you want to test (if there is more than one installed)
7) Click "Start Tests"
8) If the adapter revision is not recognized by this program, the test will abort.
NOTE: A failed "Revision Level Test" does not indicate a bad adapter, but only a hardware revision that the diagnostic program does not recognize. In this case, the test is aborted for fear of reporting invalid information or possibly improperly configuring the adapter.
9) Otherwise, the adapter will come up as either "BAD" or "GOOD"
10) If the adapter comes up "BAD", contact ATTO Tech Support.
11) If the adapter comes up "GOOD", then any problems you are experiencing are most likely NOT a result of a damaged or defective adapter. For satisfactory resolution of any such problems, contact ATTO technical support.
